Teddy Bear Hospital Leeds - Introduction
Teddy Bear Hospital (TBH) is a health project at medical schools across the country and runs in conjunction with the European Medical Students #39; Association. The project is aimed at young children between the ages of 5-7 years to help alleviate their concerns and anxieties about hospitals and doctors through fun activities and play. A team of medical students have set up workshops at local schools addressing different topics, such as healthy eating, X-rays, basic First Aid, basic anatomy and introduction to the surgical theatre. We also aim to familiarise the children with doctors and hospital settings through role play and in the process eradicate any #39;white coat anxiety #39;. This is a great opportunity for medical students to further develop their communication skills with children. All year groups are welcome!
