Swati was born in Vladivostok on April 9, 1987, Soviet Union.[1] She was named as #39;Svetlana #39; which means #39;beautiful girl #39; by a Russian doctor but changed it to Swati by her mom. Her father, who was working for the Indian Navy, was transferred to the USSR as a submariner. She has one sibling, an elder brother named Siddharth. Her family shifted to Mumbai and later to the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam, where she spent most of her childhood.[1] While studying in 11th class, she moved to Hyderabad. She enrolled at St. Mary #39;s College in Yousufguda, Hyderabad and graduated in biotechnology. After her EAMCET, she ventured into television at age 17. She started hosting a program called "Colors", which gained high popularity. Due to its positive reception, the show was further extended and moved to primetime slot.
