Garry Rumbles: NREL takes on challenges in the development of organic photovoltaics – Video

Garry Rumbles: NREL takes on challenges in the development of organic photovoltaics
As OPV efficiency improves, many mysteries still remain to be solved. spie.org - SPIE Optics + Photonics Conference. Garry Rumbles works in the Solar Photochemistry program for the United States Department of Energy, at the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) in Golden, Colorado. His research focuses on the basic science of solar photoconversion and photoinduced electron transfer processes in polymer-based nanostructured interfaces, and increasing understanding of how charges are generated in organic polymers. Work in organic photovoltaics over the last decade has progressed to an efficiency of more than 10%, Rumbles is a Research Fellow at NREL. He joined the lab in 2000 and is widely recognized for his research in photochemistry and photophysics of conjugated molecular systems, energy conversion in organic light emitting diodes and organic photovoltaic devices, and nanoscale morphology. He is a Professor Adjoint in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at CU Boulder; and in 2009 he became a Fellow of the joint CU/NREL adventure: Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI). In 2004, he was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.From:SPIETVViews:12 0ratingsTime:05:23More inScience Technology

Handbook Of Affinity Chromatography: Second Editio – Video

Handbook Of Affinity Chromatography: Second Editio
ll4.me Handbook Of Affinity Chromatography: Second Editio This essential handbook guides investigators in the theory, applications, and practical use of affinity chromatography in a variety of fields including biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, proteomics, pharmaceutical science, environmental analysis, and clinical chemistry. The Handbook of Affinity Chromatography reflects upon important factors to consider in the development of affinity methods, such as the choice of support material, immobilization methods, and application or elution conditions. It reviews common affinity methods and explores the latest preparative, analytical, and biophysical applications, including the use of affinity chromatography with other separation techniques and analytical systems. This basis seamlessly supports the discussion of recent developments in techniques including the use of affinity ligands in capillary electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, microanalytical systems, and optical biosensors. New chapters feature expanded discussions on molecularly imprinted polymers and biomimetic ligands, chromatographic immunoassays, affinity-based immunoassays, affinity-based chiral stationary phases, and affinity ligands in multidimensional systems. Engaging the collaboration of 48 scientists and students from 23 laboratories and organizations to present the latest information on affinity methods, the Handbook of Affinity Chromatography illustrates a wide range of ...From:heathernewlon634Views:0 0ratingsTime:00:16More inPeople Blogs

Skimmer – A Question of Degree – Video

Skimmer - A Question of Degree
Skimmer are a pop punk band from Birmingham, formed in 1993. This song is from their 1998 album "Vexed", released by Crackle! records. Lyrics: How can I tell Laura D who studies biochemistry/ That someone in molecular genetics really fancies her/ It #39;s all a question of degree/ And there #39;s a science block between her and I. Where to start?/ With a smile or with a card?/ I can #39;t vent my spleen/ until I #39;ve learnt what that means. I don #39;t write poetry and what I say is usually best unsaid/ My words get jumbled up and come out wrong or slurred/ So I #39;ve got no easy answers in my head/ Wish I #39;d done literature instead. But if I break things down/ to the nth, be protein/ Then I #39;d change more to her taste/ Be her friendFrom:Alex IossifidisViews:0 0ratingsTime:01:37More inMusic
