Osler, 150 years of Leadership in Law, Contributing to Our Communities, and Our People
In 2012, Osler reached a milestone that very few firms achieve -- our 150th anniversary. To mark this meaningful and historic achievement we have built a celebratory program on three themes that capture the essence of our longevity: Leadership in Law, Contributing to Our Communities, and Our People. We have redoubled our volunteer efforts in order to make a strong impact on the communities around us -- staff and lawyers have helped to build homes, raised funds for their communities, prepared and served meals, and volunteered at children #39;s camps, homeless shelters and seniors #39; centres. We have also reinvigorated our alumni outreach efforts, including the launch of the Osler Alumni Recognition Awards, which honour our alumni who have distinguished themselves through their contributions to the profession and the community at large. In addition to hosting a wide variety of social events for firm members past and present, we are also reflecting on our people, our shared values, and our unique Osler culture by collecting and sharing the stories of staff and professionals. As a final commemoration of our record of achievement, we have produced a book, Osler -- Making a difference, that highlights our contributions to major developments in law and business, as well as our ongoing commitment to community involvement over the past fifty years.
