Dr. Koller comes from the Graz University of Technology, Institute of Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering and is a prominent expert in PHA biopolymer production. His work encompasses process development in continuous and discontinuous mode, multi reactor production and novel downstream processing methods. His focus of research is the cost-efficient production of PHA from various surplus waste materials. He is currently coordinating the ANIMPOL European project that aims to develop efficient methods of using slaughterhouse waste and similar streams as substrates for PHA production.
