Conditional Immortality-Purgatory without heaven
This video addresses a video put out by sincitypreacher defending conditional immortality, the view that eventually a soul will be cease to exist if not saved. The article he read from was #39;The Nature of Hell, An Eternal punishment or eternal torment #39; by Dr. David R. Reagan. The confusion comes from thinking that #39;hades #39; doesn #39;t mean #39;hell #39; which Dr. Reagan says is #39;Gehenna #39; and refers to the Lake of Fire. The word #39;Gehenna #39;, used in the Gospels (and once in James) refers to a type of the Lake of Fire in the Millennium reign, not the eternal Lake of Fire when eternity begins. (Isa.34:9, 66:24) Hence, the KJB translators correctly used #39;hell #39; for both since both will be tossed into the Lake of Fire as one. The eternal lake of fire is not Gehenna, Gehenna exists during the Millennium, when the flames of hell can be seen.
