Klein is Chair of the CIRM Governing Board and President of Klein Financial Corporation. Gibbons is a patient advocate member of the CIRM Governing Board and is the founder of the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation. Ferrandino's son, Drew, was diagnosed with Batten disease in January 2007. Ferrandino spoke about his family's journey to identify Drew's condition and to seek out a treatment.
