It is impossible to save yourself. Yet people keep trying. That #39;s why Eve ate the forbidden fruit. She wanted to be a goddess. People want to be deified. They want veneration as having arrived as the gods. But it gets worse: Even the gods the pagans worship are actually impersonated by demons. They don #39;t want the Savior, Jesus, because that would expose them as only being mere mortals, but they would be mortals with immortality. But they don #39;t believe it. Only the meek can understand and repent and be saved. Humankind #39;s myriad efforts of self-salvation are now historically, in hind-sight, proven to be nothing more than mere exercises in futility. That #39;s what happened to ancient Rome with it #39;s Republic having been so easily overrun by dictators and a line of Ceasers that eventually got to be emperors with money, like the Presidents of our present era. The same problems come up in the cyclical repetitiveness of human history: the classical Romanesque erroneousness of bureaucratic polytheism, senatorial amateurism, legislative lethargy, perversions of justice. This is how they were manipulated by the powerful and the greedy to form vast, feudalistic-type empires which control the populated world to this very day. Being saved has nothing to do with you, but it has a lot to do with your cooperation with God.
