It may sound simple, and obvious, but youd be surprised at how many people are not drinking enough water. In fact, when was the last time you had a glass of it? Drinking more water is probably one of the easiest things you can do to improve your health in 2022, especially because it has so many potential benefits.

Your brain needs your body to stay hydrated, so any change in hydration levels can definitely affect your brain function.

Countless studies have found that dehydration, even mild dehydration, can impair brain function, impacting memory and concentration. Therefore, making sure that you drink enough water can serve to keep your brain sharp and focused.

If youre worried about your exercise performance, then it would be advisable that you make sure to drink enough water.

Hydration is critical for athletes, especially because they can lose about 1l of water per hour. If not replaced, this loss of water can influence athletic performance and even cause decreased muscle endurance and strength.

If youre struggling with digestion issues like constipation, you may want to increase your water intake.

According to a studypublished in Jornal de Pediatria, a low water intake is associated with a higher risk of intestinal constipation. As such, the researchers concluded that greater water intake may be beneficial for the prevention and treatment of mild intestinal constipation.

Average life expectancy has risen across the globe in recent decades, but the pace at which life expectancy will change remains uncertain. For example, sudden higher death rates due to a pandemic can have an impact on how life expectancy trends will develop. This uncertainty creates challenges, such as the affordability of pension schemes or the required capacity of the healthcare system. It is of vital importance to society to gain a better understanding of the financial and social impact of changing life expectancy. That is why the Amsterdam School of Economics (ASE) of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Nationale-Nederlanden are opening a new independent research centre: the Research Centre for Longevity Risk.

UvA researchers at theResearch Centrefor LongevityRiskwill study developments in survival rates and life expectancy andhow these developments are affected by a variety of factors. This includes studying demographic trends and medical developments, as well as the impact of local socioeconomic conditions and the quality of our living environment. The research findings pertaining to expected developments in life expectancy willalso provide a foundation for studying the financial and social impact of these trends.

The social and financial consequences of developments in life expectancy are enormous, says Michel Vellekoop, professor of Life Insuranceand research director of the research group atthe Amsterdam School of Economics where the newCentre will be based. 'There is a significant variation in life expectancy among different population groups, and socioeconomic differences are one of the causes.We still dont have a sufficient understanding of how life expectancy will develop and how all relevant factors relate to one another. Wealsodont have adequate knowledge of the financial and economic consequences of the developments in life expectancy. We want to change this using the research we will conduct at the Research Centre for Longevity Risk.'

Scientific evidence on longevity of Covid antibodies still evolving: Govt – Business Standard

Studies to understand the duration of persistence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies have been undertaken in India and abroad by multiple independent investigators and vaccine manufacturers and scientific evidence on it is still evolving, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Tuesday.

In written reply to a question in the Upper House of Parliament, Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar said that in addition to antibodies, other immune mechanisms like cellular or T cell based immune response and memory B cells are created because of vaccination and are responsible for protection against infection.

She was responding to the question on whether the government has conducted any studies to check if there is a case of declining vaccine immunity amongst the elderly population.

Asked whether the government is considering giving booster shots to improve immunity, Pawar said, "The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) and the National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for COVID-19 (NEGVAC) are deliberating and considering scientific evidences related to dose schedule of COVID-19 vaccines and the need for booster dose."

Adequate doses to vaccinate all eligible first dose and due second dose beneficiaries aged 18 years and above by December 2021 have been made available to states and union territories, she said.

Chris Jericho on Not Thinking About Retirement, Why He Has Had Career Longevity, More – Wrestling Headlines

AEW star Chris Jericho says he still doesnt know how much longer he will continue to lace up his wrestling boots.

The 51 year old Jericho recently spoke with Newsweeks Matthew Allen Girard and said the end of his career is the furthest thing from his mind. He made his pro wrestling debut back in 1990. Jericho commented on his longevity.

I think a lot of times people always kind of want to put a bow on everything but it really doesnt work that way, Jericho said. I think part of the reason Ive had such longevity is that I go with the flow and I follow my heart. Did I ever expect to be 31 years on the job? I cant say that I did, but I cant say that I didnt.

I dont think when youre 19, you really think about [retirement]. I never really said OK, Im going to do it this long, and I still dont. I dont know how long Im going to do the sport because I dont think that way. When people ask how long are you going to do this, I say I dont know. When I feel like I dont want to do it anymore. I dont feel that way right now.

Jericho talked more about his lengthy career, and said he credits his constant evolution for the longevity.

I think one of the reasons why Ive had such a long career, wrestling-wise, is the diversity and constant evolving and re-inventing that I do, Jericho said. I can vividly remember, in about the year 2000, really thinking about how do I constantly stay relevant in what Im doing? Theres a way to do that but you have to take chances and you have to be confident in your ability as a character and as a performer.

Jericho has not wrestled since The Inner Circle defeated Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky and American Top Team in the 10-man Street Fight at AEW Full Gear on November 13.
