Skip Bayless Says LeBron James Can Only Beat Michael Jordan In Longevity Records: ‘I Will Bet You LeBron Will Not Sit From The Start. He Will Play…

The NBA is still trying to figure out when to start the next season and some players have expressed their concern with the proposed date of December. Los Angeles Lakers sharpshooter Danny Green recently revealed it was going to be hard seeing LeBron James and other players taking the court during the first month of competition.

This appears to be the general thought among players, but Bron always takes the most shots for being the face of the franchise. Skip Bayless, for instance, found a way to criticize LeBron for possibly sitting during the first month of the next season while making the case for Michael Jordan as the GOAT. Skip claimed that since LeBron has to keep trying to catch up with MJ, he wont be taking any rest so he can improve his career stats.

I will bet you LeBron will not sit from the start. He will play opening night and play 38 minutes. You know why? He has to. All hes got left chasing that ghost in Chicago is longevity achievements.

He then doubled down his comments on Twitter, explaining that LeBron is feeling the urgency to improve his numbers before his body starts slowing down.

All LeBron can do is pile up minutes, points, assists and set bogus long-term records. But Father Time is tapping him on the shoulder.

James confirmed hes one of the greatest players in NBA history after clinching his 4th NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers a couple of weeks ago. The King finished his 17th season in the league, playing at the highest level even though hes 35 years old. LeBrons longevity is unmatched and he doesnt seem to be slowing down shortly. Yet, for Bayless, whatever he does wont be good to reach Michael Jordans level, even if LeBron isnt interested in that.

US sees nearly 90,000 new daily COVID-19 infections, breaking records | TheHill – The Hill

The U.S. hit two troubling coronavirus milestones Thursday: 87,164 new confirmed infections in a single day a record high and a total ofalmost 9 million cases reported since the onset of the pandemic, CNN reports.

Data suggests the two-week average for positive cases has increased by 42 percent, and fatalitieshave also increased by 16 percent.

These increases are not expected to slow down. Scott Gottlieb, former commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, believes that it is only a matter of time before the U.S. sees 100,000 new casesa day.

"We'll cross 100,000 infections at some point in the next couple of weeks, probably. We might do it this week, if all the states report on time," he told CNN.

Gottliebblamed a lack of public cautionfor the rise in new cases, suggesting people are not heeding protocols recommended by public health officials.

"The reality is that I think we're not going to start to see a slowdown in the pandemic until you see consumer behavior change, and until you see mobility data start to decline," he said. "That's been the lesson of the past surges in the virus."

The surge in cases is primarily seen in Midwest and Southwest states, with Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and North and South Dakota recording record numbers of new cases.

The dramatic surge comes days before the election, where the pandemic has become a dominant issue.

President Trump says that the U.S. is turning the corner in regards to the public health crisis, while Democratic challenger Joe Biden has stated that at the current new case trajectory, the U.S. is headed for a dark winter.

US will cross 100,000 daily coronavirus cases over the next few weeks, former FDA head says | TheHill – The Hill

The U.S. could begin seeing 100,000 coronavirus cases per day sometime in the next couple of weeks or sooner, the former head of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said Thursday.

Well cross 100,000 infections at some point in the next couple of weeks, probably, former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb said during an interview with CNBC.

Our country is in a historic fight against the Coronavirus. Add Changing America to your Facebook or Twitter feed to stay on top of the news.

We might do it this week, if all the states report on time, Gottlieb said.

The U.S. is currently reporting a record high seven-day average of more than 74,000 new coronavirus cases per day with nearly 800 deaths, according to The COVID Tracking Project. More than 85,000 cases were reported across the country Friday, breaking the previous record set in July for the highest number of confirmed infections in a single day.

Public health officials have confirmed the surge is not just a consequence of expanded testing but a true worsening of the outbreak in many states.

Gottlieb said he doesnt expect to see a slowdown in the outbreak until Americans change their behavior by going out less and wearing face masks regularly, noting that people need to be vigilant about adhering to public health measures over the holiday season.

I think after Thanksgiving, thats going to be a turning point when the infection levels get high enough in many parts of the country that we start to see a policy reaction and also consumer behavior start to change. The month of December is really spent probably hunkering down a bit more, and hopefully we turn the corner as we get into the new year, he said.

More than 40 states are reporting increases in cases with several Midwestern states experiencing steep inclines in hospitalizations. On Wednesday, hospitalizations hit new highs in 13 states.

The U.S. continues to be the worst-affected country when it comes to COVID-19, confirmingnearly 8.9 million cases and more than 227,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

Nutrition for Longevity provides 3 or 5 days of meals per week and offers a rotating set menu designed with options to fit vegan or pescatarian diets.

Each day includes a fully prepared breakfast and lunch, which consists of a smoothie with ancient grain oats and a fresh and healthy salad.

Their starter kit also provides ingredients for an easy-to-cook dinner, which can be prepared in 30 minutes or less using a simple recipe that they provide.

The starter kit includes 3 days of meals for either 1 or 2 people per week, with 1,600 or 2,000 calories daily.

They also offer Heat & Serve meal plans, which include fully prepared meals that are ready to enjoy in just 5 minutes.

Heat & Serve meal kits are available for 3 or 5 days per week and contain either 1 or 2 servings each. You can also select 2 or 3 meals per day and can choose kits that provide either 1,200 or 1,600 calories.

All fruits and vegetables used in Nutrition for Longevity meal kits are sourced directly from the companys regenerative farm.

However, the companys website doesnt specify whether they can ensure that theres no risk of cross-contamination. If you have a severe gluten allergy, you may want to contact Nutrition for Longevity to learn more about their practices.

The service is also a great choice for those who limit their sodium intake, as daily menus all contain less than 2,300 mg of sodium.

Plus, all meals are free of dairy, eggs, and peanuts. Vegan meal kits are free of fish and shellfish. Any major food allergens found in meals are noted on the ingredients list.

However, many meals do contain grains and legumes, which may not be ideal for those following paleo, ketogenic, or Whole30 diets.

Nutrition for Longevity is designed to promote long-term, sustainable weight loss naturally.

In fact, each meal kit includes at least 10 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, which can be beneficial for both weight loss and overall health (1).

According to one review of 10 studies, higher intake of vegetables was linked to increased weight loss and a reduced risk of weight gain over time (2).

Nutrition for Longevity meal plans are also rich in fiber, which moves slowly through your body to reduce hunger and promote feelings of fullness (3).

One study found that fiber intake was associated with increased weight loss and greater success with sticking to dietary recommendations in 345 people with overweight or obesity on a low calorie diet (4).

Furthermore, decreasing the number of calories that you consume each day can also be an effective strategy to help promote weight loss (5).

Nutrition for Longevity allows you to select from meal plans with varying numbers of calories when placing your order, which makes it easy to adjust your plan based on your goals.

Keep in mind that calorie needs differ from person to person. If weight loss is your goal, talk with your healthcare provider or a registered dietitian about your calorie needs, or use a calorie calculator to get some guidance.

Prices for Nutrition for Longevity vary depending on the specific plan and number of meals and servings that you select.

For example, 3-day starter kits cost $113$246 each week.

Meanwhile, Heat & Serve meals range from $108$195 per week.

Any applicable shipping costs are also calculated upon checkout.

There are several meal delivery services on the market that are similar to Nutrition for Longevity.

Sakara, for example, is a high end meal delivery service that offers fully prepared, plant-based meals designed to support health.

Like Nutrition for Longevity, Sakara features a rotating weekly menu and allows you to select the number of days and meals that you would like to receive.

However, Sakara is a bit pricier than Nutrition for Longevity and doesnt offer any pescatarian options.

Daily Harvest is another popular option that provides a variety of plant-based foods and drinks, which you can order individually to create your own custom menu.

Although Daily Harvest doesnt offer any pescatarian dishes, youre able to select your meals, and all dishes require little to no preparation.

Nutrition for Longevity is a great choice for people who want to include more high quality ingredients in their diet and save time on meal prep each week.

It may also be a good option for people hoping to improve their health or lose weight by making modifications to their diet.

However, it may not be a good fit for those on a tight budget, as its a bit more expensive than many other similar services.

Because theres currently no option available to choose which specific meals you receive each week, it also may not be ideal for picky eaters or those with certain dietary restrictions.

Nutrition for Longevity is a meal delivery service that offers nutritious and plant-forward dishes, with both vegan and pescatarian options available.

There are several subscription options, and plans are specifically formulated to provide a balanced assortment of important nutrients.

Although it may not be a good fit for everyone, Nutrition for Longevity is a great option for people looking for an easy and convenient way to add more fresh, flavorful, and healthy meals into their daily routine.

Genetic differences and longevity-related phenotypes influence lifespan and lifespan variation in a sex-specific manner in mice – DocWire News

This article was originally published here

Aging Cell. 2020 Oct 26:e13263. doi: 10.1111/acel.13263. Online ahead of print.

ABSTRACT

Epidemiological studies of human longevity found two interesting features, robust advantage of female lifespan and consistent reduction of lifespan variation. To help understand the genetic aspects of these phenomena, the current study examined sex differences and variation of longevity using previously published mouse data sets including data on lifespan, age of puberty, and circulating insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1) levels in 31 inbred strains, data from colonies of nuclear-receptor-interacting protein 1 (Nrip1) knockout mice, and a congenic strain, B6.C3H-Igf1. Looking at the overall data for all inbred strains, the results show no significant difference in lifespan and lifespan variation between sexes; however, considerable differences were found among and within strains. Across strains, lifespan variations of female and male mice are significantly correlated. Strikingly, between sexes, IGF1 levels correlate with the lifespan variation and maximum lifespan in different directions. Female mice with low IGF1 levels have higher variation and extended maximum lifespan. The opposite is detected in males. Compared to domesticated inbred strains, wild-derived inbred strains have elevated lifespan variation due to increased early deaths in both sexes and extended maximum lifespan in female mice. Intriguingly, the sex differences in survival curves of inbred strains negatively associated with age of female puberty, which is significantly accelerated in domesticated inbred strains compared to wild-derived strains. In conclusion, this study suggests that genetic factors are involved in the regulation of sexual disparities in lifespan and lifespan variation, and dissecting the mouse genome may provide novel insight into the underlying genetic mechanisms.

The number of COVID-19 symptoms you have could determine the longevity of your sickness, study finds – Times Now

New Delhi: One thing that has really shocked people around the world is the diverse range of symptoms that COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus exhibits in people infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. While some people do not develop any symptoms throughout the illness, even when they test positive for the virus, others develop mild to severe symptoms, a few days after contracting the virus, and soon recover from them. However, there is a group of people who suffer from various symptoms from the beginning of the illness, to months after they test negative for the virus. A small group of people around the world are also experiencing symptoms so severe, that they have proven fatal and led to the loss of life as well.

While researchers look into the virus and try to devise treatment methods and a safe, effective vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19, researchers have now stumbled upon some information that may explain the wide range of COVID-19 symptoms. According to the latest reports, studies suggest that the number of COVID-19 symptoms a patient has at the beginning of the disease can determine its longevity as well.

Researchers studied more than 4,000 people from the US, UK, and Sweden. They found that COVID-19 patients who had more than five symptoms of the infection during the first week of illness were more likely to be associated with Long COVID a condition where symptoms of the disease last for months, even after recovery.

Among the participants, subjects who experienced symptoms for more than 28 days, identified as a relatively long infection, were mostly older people, and more females. These patients were also reported to more likely require hospital care, as compared to those who had symptoms for a shorter period ten days or less.

The study has been published in the pre-print medRxiv, and is yet to be peer-reviewed.

At the population level, it is critical to quantify the burden of Long-COVID to better assess its impact on the healthcare system and appropriately distribute resources, the researchers from the University College London said in their paper.

In our study, prospective logging of a wide range of symptoms allowed us to conclude that the proportion of people with symptomatic COVID-19 who experience prolonged symptoms is considerable, and relatively stable across three countries with different cultures, they added.

All participants of the study were asked to record their symptoms in an app on their mobile devices, from March 25th to June 30th.

558 people had symptoms that lasted 28 days. 189 people's symptoms lasted more than 8 weeks, and 95 people had symptoms for more than 12 weeks. Around 1500 people had a short disease duration.

According to the study, the five symptoms that were seen during the first week of sickness were most predictive of prolonged illness, in both men and women. These symptoms included fatigue, headache, difficulty breathing, hoarse voice, and muscle pains. Memory and concentration issues, ear ringing, were also among the common onset symptoms.

Researchers also found that only one pre-existing condition, asthma, was associated with long-COVID.
