Cosmonaut Quits Because He Doesn’t Want to "Work for the Americans" – Futurism

"Sorry, but there is no proper motivation for this."So Long

Russian cosmonaut Alexander Skvortsov, whom Russian news outlet Moskovskii Komsomolets describes as the hero of Russia, gave the outlet a short interview explaining his departure from the space program earlier this week.

He says there wasnt enough to keep him busy on the International Space Station and, pushing him over the edge, Skvortsov doesnt want to collaborate with the American astronauts. Hes also turning 56 years old, and told MKits more or less just time to retire.

It would have been nothing if the program included interesting work on the Russian segment, but most of the time I would have to work for the Americans, that is, to help them carry out their experiments, Skvortsov told the Russian publication. Sorry, but there is no proper motivation for this. In a few days I will be 56 years old I do not want to celebrate my 60th anniversary in orbit. We must stop in time.

Social media users were quick to point out that there could be several different interpretations of Skvortsovs remarks. Space enthusiast Katya Pavlushchenko translated the interview in a Twitter thread, with replies divided on what the cosmonaut meant.

Is he saying he doesn[t]want to assist Americans? Why would he have to? There will be more Americans on station than Russians, one user replied.

Or is he saying that the Russian Segment lacks any meaningful scientific program of its own? another questioned.

Either is possible. Skvortsov said in the interview he respects Rogozin, the boorish head of Russias space program, and that he isnt leaving Roscosmos with any resentment. Still, life aboard the ISS has been pretty rocky lately, especially between the Russians and Americans.

Rogozin has even been rumored to want out as well.

Its tough to say whether Skvortsov just resents Americans, or isnt satisfied with Russias space program, but the result is the same either way. MK says another cosmonaut will take Skvortsovs place, so they wont be down an employee for long.

We Are in Awe of This Absolutely Horrifying Elon Musk Tattoo – Futurism

"I genuinely dont know if this is ironic or a fanboy."Elon Devil

A New York-based tattoo artist who goes by the moniker Mashkow has really outdone themselves with one of the most grotesquely fascinating Elon Musk tattoos weve ever seen.

An image circulating online shows the billionaire CEOs face imprinted in full color on the forearm of the artists client, throwing the Twitterverse into a fit of rage and confusion.

The depiction is truly a sight to behold. The tattoo shows Musk awkwardly smirking with red tinted eyes. The names of his companies, including Boring Companyand Tesla, alongside what appear to be X Space and Neural Link, are scrawled in messy letters across his cheeks and neck. Oh, and Free Speech is emblazoned on Musks forehead in graffiti-style font, next to the Twitter bird, in a reference to the CEOs obsession with turning the site into an arena for free speech. And just for good measure, something appears to be drizzling from the entrepreneurs lower lip.

Naysayers were quick to point out some issues with the ink.

Actually, its Neuralink, one Twitter user offered helpfully.

Its a tattoo so hideousthat it makes us question the true intention behind it. Is it meant to be a commentary on societys current obsession with the entrepreneur? Or was it simply a case of astronomically bad taste?

Given the artists previous and extensive work, which can be viewed on their Instagram account, its likely the former or, perhaps, a little bit of both.

I genuinely dont know if this is ironic or a fanboy, one Twitter user wrote in response to the image.

Its not a stretch to assume the artwork was meant to evoke this kind of visceral reaction. Besides, art is in the, well, bloodshot eyes of the beholder.

But given the fact that theres simply no way this tattoo will age gracefully, we wouldnt be shocked if the client will eventually have a moment of regret.

Cant wait to see this on a coverup episode of Inkmaster, quipped BuzzFeed News editor John Paczkowski.

POV: You’re Watching the first TikTok Made in Space – Futurism

"Boldly go where no TikToker has gone before."FYP

The for you page is getting a little more far out than usual with the European Space Agency celebrating the first TikTok ever made in space.

ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti posted the 90-second clip Thursday and walked viewers through life on the International Space Station. She even showed off the stuffed animals she brought along for the 6-month flight with rocket manufacturer SpaceX. Cristoforetti is on the Crew-4 mission and said the first few days aboard the ISS were spent learning as much as possible from the outgoing Crew-3 mission team.

Follow me to boldly go where no TikToker has gone before, Cristoforetti said at the end of her video, which currently has about 658,000 views.

Those of us still stuck on the Earths surface sure do love seeing what astronauts get up to on the job.

Last week ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer showed us his cozy night routine, just weeks after we learned how pee is recycled and that the ISS toilet was broken. Life off Earth has been a little stressful lately, so we hope the new outlet gives Cristoforetti a spark of creativity. Will we get to see the first dance trend creating in zero gravity?

We cant wait to see what trends come out of this new ISS content. If all goes according to SpaceXs plan, we may even see the first TikTok created on Mars.

Elon Musk Alarmed by Threat From Russian Space Program Chief – Futurism

"If I die under mysterious circumstances, its been nice knowin ya."Finger Pointing

Elon Musk has enemies in high places and theyre not afraid to let him know it.

In a tweet last night, the SpaceX and Tesla CEO pointed to a media statement from Russian space chief Dmitry Rogozin. The statement, which has been picked up by the Russian media, accuses Musk of providing SpaceXs Starlink internet equipment to the Azov Special Operations Detachment, a part of the Ukrainian military thats been credibly linked to neo-Nazi movements an ugly situation thatRussia has cited as part of its justification for it widely-condemned invasion of its neighbor.

In the statement, Rogozin broadsided Musk for supplying the fascist forces in Ukraine with military communication equipment and demanded that he answer in an adult way in spite of his desire to play the fool.

In a followup tweet, Musk said in a probable joke that if he dies under mysterious circumstances, its been nice knowin ya.

Needless to say, there are difficult-to-unpack levels of complexity here. Azovs links to extremist white supremacist movements are inexcusable, but its also actively fighting against an unconscionable invasion on Russias part.

Musk hasnt yet confirmed or denied that he provided Azov directly with Starlink equipment, though a follow-up tweet suggests he doesnt believe the group its coat of arms includes what strongly appear to be two Nazi symbols are really neo-Nazis. At the same time, though, he cryptically opined that there are no angels in war.

The feud between Musk and Rogozin has been simmering for years now, and reignited when Russia invaded Ukraine and the SpaceX czar decided to weigh in and, uh, threaten Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Theres no telling what direction their beef will take next, but if either of these combatants past history is taken into account, youd be ill advised to bet against the messiest outcome.

Austin Rotter, a PR Professional, Interviewed on ‘Why Good Content Has to be Futurist and Forward-Thinkin – Benzinga

Austin Rotter, Digital Marketing Strategist

Austin Rotter, a professional PR and media relations strategist, was recently interviewed by The Ritz Herald on the subject of why good content must be futuristic and forward-thinking. As evidence for his assertion, Austin presented a number of reasons, including why content marketing needs an overhaul.

Recent advancements in technology have enabled radical shifts in human behavior. The evolution of web activities, new content consumption habits, and the uptake of voice search and video streaming is leading the marketing sector toward a future where mass-produced content and sales promotions will no longer work.

In a recent interview with The Ritz Herald, Austin Rotter highlighted the reasons why good content has to be futuristic and forward-thinking. Austin is an expert in media strategy, branding, and public relations. He helps brands and entrepreneurs break free from the confines of noisy ecosystems to reach their targeted audiences in a creative and strategic way.

The article includes excerpts from the interview. For more information about Austin and his services, or to follow his blog, visit his website: https://austinrotter.com/.

Why does content marketing need a revamp?

Austin ascribed COVID-19 as the primary reason for the matter in question. While countries were grappling with the pandemic, the economic downturn placed them at unprecedented risk.

As a last-ditch effort to survive the crisis, a substantial amount of small businesses emerged online. Many brick-and-mortar stores also made the transition into the digital world. Since then, the sector has been inundated with novel strategies, many of which are proven to be ineffective.

Theres much more noise out there, and its harder for brands to cut through the clutter, said Austin. The way we define content marketing has changed. Initially, it was more inclined towards creating and distributing information to attract and retain customers. Now, its gravitating towards creating and distributing content that drives conversions and sales. In this regard, many emerging brands go overboard with their claims, and thats not going to be a sustainable model in the long run, he added.

How can companies make their content interactive to ensure client satisfaction?

In response to the question above, Austin came up with two possible solutions. He first suggested that branding should be mobile-friendly. Instead of selling services, brands need to sell solutions. They should produce informative, digestible content such as carousels, infographics, and interactive videos that add value to their customers lives.

Second, he proposed that brands must evaluate how their content performs online. Numbers play a pivotal role in determining the success of your content, he stated. Almost all social media platforms allow brands to visualize how their content performs online and what type of posts garner the most engagement. Brands should use these analytics to detect trends and understand what works best for them to make their content strategy futuristic.

A message to the marketers who favor mass-produced content:

Austins final call was for companies that produce mass content. He advised them to reassess their strategy, pointing out that mass-produced content is no longer effective. Todays consumers want more personalized and targeted information, which can only be delivered by providing them with solutions that are tailored to their emotional needs.
