Street Anatomy has teamed up with Annabel de Vetten of UK based Conjurer’s Kitchen to create anatomical heart cakes for our OBJECTIFY THIS exhibition coming up next Friday (September 7) in Chicago.  We are extremely excited for this opportunity to share some anatomical food with the gallery audience on opening night!

Annabel creates a range of creatively unique cakes and other goodies from artistic to anatomical.  She’s one of the fantastic cake makers participating in this years Eat Your Heart Out anatomical bake shop at St. Bart’s Pathology Museum in London.

Big thank you to AnatomyUK for making this happen!

EYHO, the anatomically correct bake shop taking place at St. Bart’s pathology museum in London October 26-28th, will showcase pathological cakes reflective of the specimens at the museum.  Fast track tickets to the event have already sold out, but you can still attend if you don’t mind waiting in line! If you’re in London, do not miss out on this event!

And yes that is Emily Evans one of the fabulous artists from our OBJECTIFY THIS exhibition!

Are you up for the challenge of trying out these disgustingly delicious cocktails at this years Eat Your Heart Out cake shop at St. Bart’s Pathology Museum hapenning October 26–28, 2012 in London?  EYHO is put on by the lovely Miss Cakehead and the cocktails are being created by James Dance of Loading, a Falmouth based internet café and games arcade.

Commenting on the collaboration with Miss Cakehead James says:

“For Eat Your Heart Out the real challenge was to try and make some drink that worked with the anatomical nature of the event, focusing on bodily fluids being too limiting. Instead I took a crime scene body outline as inspiration and tried to cover every area of the body. Of course cocktails such as the ‘Stool Sample’ and ‘Urine’ were so obvious I could not resist including them. As with the cakes each drink will be disgusting to look they will all taste amazing, horror being in peoples minds and the connections they make.”

I really wish I could be in London to attend EYHO.  Anyone in or near London, go to this!  It sounds like it’s going to be quite a fun and unique experience.

Anatomical Macarons

Miss Insomnia Tulip

Miss Insomnia Tulip

Miss Insomnia Tulip created these anatomical macarons for Eat Your Heart Out, and aside from looking pretty damn delicious, they are informative!

The detail on them is really great and it’s making me hope she takes it further and creates anatomical macarons of animals, monsters, aliens, and any other non-humans.

Additionally, she has some other amazing anatomy related work on her flickr, like eyeballs in jars and heart shaped macarons.

Pathology-based Anatomical Cake Shop: Call for Entries!

Miss Cakehead Eat Your Heart Out

Our wonderful friend and cake curator extrodinaire, Miss Cakehead is putting on another extreme cake shop following the success of last years Eat Your Heart Out, the world’s first 18+ cake shop.  Because cakes shouldn’t just be nice and sweet.

This year the event will be held in St Bartholomew’s Pathology Museum in West Smithfield, London, with mission to educate people about Pathology while also selling some very unique anatomically correct baked goods. A series of pathology based lectures will also take place in the space, examining relevant conditions such as icing sugar spleennutmeg liver and maple syrup urine disease. How cool and gross is that!?

‘Eat Your Heart Out’ is currently on the lookout for the most creative bakers, cake artists & food artists around the UK to come up with some anatomically correct treats.

Miss Cakehead says, “If you have a steady hand and a strong stomach for making delicious yet gory cakes or horrifically anatomical sugary sculptures and treats then please get in touch!”
